First, to Manny, could you please email me? I don't think you got the last email I sent you, thanks....
My fav version of long and winding road is the let it be naked version by far.
I see in the comments at the YouTube page for that version, that many fans agree with you, Yet my own ears don't know why. That version sounds like it is lacking and although Paul sings it well enough, he sings it better on the single version. Plus I think Spector did wonders with this song and had he not, it never would have reached number 1 on the charts. With that said I can understand why Paul was upset with Spector for not even consulting Paul when he changed the song, since it was his song.
Any poll with even one loaded with great songs is a foregone conclusion with moonlight mile in it,i love this song.
But Manny, we aren't asking about the song you love most, if we were, I would have voted for it too. We want the song that covers the subject title (coke) best. Many people never even realized that MM was about cocaine because of how the lyrics cover it. I went with the Keith Richards cover song, usually I will not vote for Stones songs in the rock poll since so many Stones fans will, simply because they are Stones songs, but with this song by Keith, so many fans don't know it and it really is one of his better done songs. Too bad it was never released as a Stones song, as it was recorded at a Stones session, but only Keith plays on it so I guess that's why.
