All I'm saying is that if the Stones wanted to keep prices low, they have the power to do so.
Yes but that doesn't mean that the tickets that make it into the hands of the average fan will actually cost of the artificial prices you wish for the Stones establish. Did you bother to read PayPhoneAl's posting on the dirty little secret about concert tickets? You do understand that the vast majority of tickets never go on sale to the general public. This means that most tickets must first pass through 3rd party vendors.
So why would the Stones be motivated to price something cheaper and more reasonably when a 3rd party will simply turn around and price it up to what the market can demand? Maybe it's because I have degrees in Finance and Economics but I would also be pissed (just like Mick) if something I was selling for say $100 was getting resold for 2 and 3 times that amount and others were profitting simply because they are dealing in tickets and not the actual end product.
It is what it is. And even if the Stones priced in a range that compared to peers many of you would still be complaining. Live entertain is expensive these days. Less acts that the Stones are easily collecting $200-300/ticket. I was just looking at Macca's pricing scheme and it really isn't too much different then the Stones. Perhaps his fans are also complaining. But I am not worried because I know that I will be able to score a ticket in my price range and more then likely below face value. And I actually love it when I can rob a third party scalper of a big pay day.
If you really have a problem with the prices go get on the list for $85 tickets. Those tickets are still dropping and most people I know that want them are getting them. I think given the situation, the Stones are doing what the can. Could they have accepting less money... yes but that only would have meant someone else was going to profit off their offering.
