...I no longer think I misread anything. I hate when people create needless drama, but after speaking with the people who shared the binoculars with me to see his face - very up close - it wasn't exhaustion, tiredness, etc. He played one song - so, not tired. If you want to relax after your "song," you do so offstage. Keith's tech and Ronnie's tech were standing behind Mick T. pointing to him while they talked...you could tell it was a "what the hell's he doing?" conversation. They were reaching around him to grab tools...he was IN the way. That desk is NOT Mick T's place. After seeing them work around him for 10 minutes or so, he went out the back door. Like I said, I won't go as far as guaranteeing he was wiping a tear, but he was in DEEP thought, watching the band play from directly behind Charlie while interrupting the work of others.
So, no...I don't think I had it wrong. I qualify things - like I said - in case there's a 1% chance of being wrong. My sister tapped me - before we even discussed it - and said "Is he okay? Is he crying?" At that point, I saw him sitting back there, but didn't think about it much...out came the binocs and I watched him solid for the rest of his time sitting there. I would say he's getting $50-100k a show. So, it's way more that he would make - hell even if he was getting 10k a show - on his own, in Australia or anywhere else. The guy was forlorn. Period. I saw the "happy" Mick onstage minutes before he sat down...I've never seen him as animated - even on the Youtube vids...so, the contrast was palpable.
It wasn't meant to be pro or con Mick Taylor. If Pierre Beauport was sitting at his desk, I wouldn't have that about it much...If I was a social media addict, I would've filmed Mick T...actually, no, I wouldn't have shared it.
