RE: RE: Not sold out and no MT

The shit part is -

If you purchased a ticket at the insane, greedy, pathetic prices for a floor seat, you'll be rewarded for your actions by having someone sitting next to you that paid less than a tenth of what you did for the same seats.

The devaluing of tickets is criminal. Those who paid the money - for whatever seats - should be upgraded first...on the night of the show. Bob Dylan did this when I saw him a few years back. The house and floor wasn't full, so ushers came by to all of us in the first tier of seats off the floor and moved us down. That's class. That's respect - not just for "the fans" - but it's respect for your fellow man. The Stones could stop this if they wanted. Lower your guarantee, dicks.

The equivalent for Bob would have been if we all stayed in our first level seats and at the box office they were selling tickets for $15 the night of the show...we would then be squinting at the stage from our $75 seats while the $15 people walked past us onto the floor.

I'm going to go to this concert w/my $170 ticket for 3 reasons:

1. To have a great time with those who are going with me - especially my daughter.

2. Because some of us are no longer among the living, I am going because they cannot.

3. To say goodbye to the Stones.

I will always love their music, but I now know what the saying "going out while you're still on top" means. I didn't agree with Lester Bangs when he said the Stones no longer mattered after some of their below par 70's material...I hung on longer than most, but I finally reached the end of it.

I always wondered - "what is this world going to be like without the Rolling Stones in it?"

...not realizing that I've been living in a world without THE Rolling Stones for quite some time. This final wringing out of the corpse to get every last valuable drop of blood (read: Money) is just a formality. (BTW - I'll be looking VERY hard at the stage to see where the millions went into it's creation. Voodoo Lounge and even the Bridges tour had a more elaborate stage - with cheaper ticket prices - and somehow the Stones didn't end up on welfare.)

Really sucks. But all good things eventually come to an end. There was a time where meeting Keith would have been a mind blower for me...Now, the only Stone I truly wish I could share a word with is Charlie. The one Stone who has remained consistent in his behavior and personality.

Anyway, that's enough venting for now...I insist on having fun tomorrow, and on the drive home I will probably regret saying some of the above...but the money part of these proceedings is gross and rather than a "Thank You" to the fans for 50 years of fame and fortune, we're getting a "Fah-Q." I went and saw Green Day with my daughter in April - GREAT Show! - $60..........

It shows that even the most beautiful things in life can be ruined by the almighty dollar.

If you made it this far - thanks...I will post some sort of review on Monday.

Hope everyone is having a Flabtastic Weekend!
