I can only speak from a personal point of view on this, since I'm not a member of that or any other political party.
I myself will only respect those who respect me back. People on the right who respect me would have my respect, even if I disagree with them. But the problem is that most people on the right don't respect those who don't think in the same backwards way in which they think. They then try to force their backwards views on the rest of us via insane, unjust laws and I refuse to respect such people. Only a fool would respect such a person.
Respect for diversity? I only have that if it is good diversity. For example, I have zero respect for Nazis.
