What will happen with the DUI laws here are in question. It has always been illegal to drive under any drug influence here, as it should be. But nothing is defined as to how much weed can be in your blood, and noboidy knows for sure how long the average user stays high. Both the GOP and Dems tried 2 years ago to pass a new DUI law for weed, setting a limit of 5 nanograms in the blood - and they were shot down by the people since that would have made it impossible to drive if you smoked a joint 2 days ago. If you are a regular marijuana user, you always have that amount in your blood, and most of us are no longer impaired after one hour passes. Then there was the other problem as to just how would the police give you a blood test, since that is the only way to determine if you had over 5 nanograms in your blood?
I should point out the other problem with this new law is that you can have 6 plants, but only 1 ounce of smokeable weed. So what happens when you harvest your plants? You're going to have a lot more than an ounce with just one harvested plant. We already have the same problem here with the medical marijuana law, where you can also have 6 plants but only 2 and a half ounces dried. So far they have just let it be and have not addressed this issue, but now that everybody in the state over 21 can carry, they will have to work this out.
Oh, and the employee thing is yet another deal, it hasn't been tested here in court yet, since no employer wanted to take on sick employees. But now, things more than likely will change, and you can bet it will head to court, and our court system here is very liberal, thank goodness.
