I didn't vote in the first rock poll because I think that neither of these losers is overrated. You can't be overrated when you're not rated at all, Ronnie.

You may not dig either of them, totally understood, but you are very much mistaken on them not ever being "rated". Both of them were highly rated when they first started out - especially Timberlake, who was the lead singer for the boy band 'N Sync, and Spears was too! She was highly rated by several publications, including Rolling Stone who called her something like 'the best new talent to come out in years'..... So yes, both of these two got high ratings when they first started out. I can see not voting for either one of them only if you or others think they deserved those high ratings which they received, but they clearly were highly rated, which in turn lead to their success.

Backstreet Girl in the second poll, no contest.

I agree BJ did a fine job on that one, but I must disagree with you on this choice. The "no contest" vote IMO, and the reason I thought up the poll question in the first place, was because of the accordion played in the Billy Joel song, "Piano Man". It's one of the few times an accordion was the lead instrument in a rock song and in turn made that song a great song, even better than what BJ did with the Stones number, and a few other fantastic accordion parts played and listed in the poll (again MO). It is also funny that a song which is titled with the word "piano" in it, has a different instrument playing as it's lead, which is also the case for The Who's "Squeeze Box", as the "squeeze box" noted in the song is not even close to being the lead instrument in that song (another unusual instrument for a rock song is, that being the banjo... which BTW, the banjo will be asked in next week's rock poll question).

You have no info at all listed for the song Another One Rides the Bus Keno. Looks like an oversight to me.

Thanks for noting that. It wasn't an oversight, I had Weird Al listed, but I made a mistake on how I listed him. Here is some ASP 101 for all.... Because our polls all run on ASP programming, there is a code used in that web language, and which was used in building the poll program - that being quotation marks ("). Since that code was used to build the polls, if a quotation mark is shown in the body of the poll, it is telling the poll program to not list any text noted after it appears. So whenever I list text when building a new poll that needs a quotation mark, I have to remember to use the other quotation mark (') instead of ("), or the text will not show. 90% of the time I remember this, and when I do forget, I'll see the mistake after I build the poll. But with this being a holiday weekend in the US, when I finally built this poll on Sunday morning, I was rushed to be somewhere else, and I not only forget that rule while working in a hurry, but I didn't look closely at the finished product, and yes, I had that song down being credited as "Weird Al" Yankovic - Accordion by Al Yankovic instead of 'Weird Al' Yankovic - Accordion by Al Yankovic, so the text after the title didn't show at all, even though it was there. Totally my mistake, and the first time I've done that in a few years, as I usually catch it long before the poll is published and run. In a closing note on this, yes, our board is also run using ASP programming, but unlike the polls, both of which were build by my best friend Tee, the board, which was built about a year after he built the polls, had that problem code fixed. I noted to him the night we build the new board about the problem with the polls not being able to use quotation marks and how that would be a major problem when people would post using them in the new board. So Tee used different codes to substitute for the quotation marks. He also offered to fix the problem in the poll's program, but since that only affects me and I know about it, I told him to just let it slide, since he did build this version of our board totally for free. He did enough free work for us that night I felt, and I've lived with the quotation mark code problem since, no big deal, yet you can bet that sometime in the next few years I'll make that same mistake again when I forget about it while making a new poll, Ronnie!
