Gn'R is still the only band I've ever heard that can do what The Stones do...... They are the only band that on a good night can go head to head with The Stones.
I assume you mean the Stones back in their prime? Today, the Stones can't even match what they used to do.
Plus I got to disagree with you about other bands playing like the Stones. I could name several who played just as great live as the Stones played and with the same feeling. True, none of those bands exist today, but back in the late 60s and early 70s there were several other great bands full of power. With that said, the old GnR were a great band too - but I'll add, the Ju Ju Hounds were perhaps closer to the old Stones sound than G and R were.
The bands today? Well, I've been watching the Colbert show with his rock concerts this week and and all I can say is - holy shit - what trash! The first 3 bands I saw on there flat out sucked. I stated the other day that the new music of today is better than what came out 10 years ago - but perhaps I'm wrong after what I've seem on TV the last 3 days. Trash is trash, Ronnie, and those 3 bands were as bad as it gets. Of course, it was only 3 acts, so I shouldn't rate all new music on that crap.
