My trusty little London AZ guide doesn't list a "Lyle Street". There is a "Lyle Clo" (whatever that abreviation stands for), but it's nowhere near Leicester Square.
Yes, it's trusty I see, and my memory isn't!... I recalled when I was doing research for my book a few years ago, I remember looking up 'Lyle Street' to find out where it was, and I recall it(incorrectly) being near Leicester Square. So your reply just got me to looked it up again on Google Maps, and no, there isn't any Lyle St! But, there is a "Lisle St", just 1 block off of Leicester Square, and I recall that now, after looking this up again tonight, that was what I found a few years ago, not Lyle St. Just got the names mixed up when I made that earlier reply, and forgot that I actually never did find it the first time I looked for it. So who knows what Bill meant by "Lyle Street Lucy", unless he meant Lisle St and just spelled it differently to confuse everybody a bit more!
