RE: "Lynyrd Skynyrd"'s New Single (NSC)

This band isn't Lynyrd Skynyrd any more than the band who today call themselves "The Who", is that old band.

Yet I have a friend who loves Lynyrd Skynyrd, even today, and he insists that there isn't anything wrong with them using the name, since sports teams do the same thing year in and year out. He will say to me, that the Denver Broncos today aren't the same team they were in 1975, so why is it okay for them to use the same name, but not Skynyrd. I can see his point on that, in a way, but that just has been accepted in sports to be the way it goes, for over 100 years now. It was never that way in music. Once an artists retires or dies, then their bands is over with. Perhaps that isn't the best answer to counter with, but I'm not sure how else to explain it. Anybody want to try?

As far as that new single goes, it starts off sounding great, but by midway thru it lost its steam and I grew tired of it and turned it off before the final minute played..... RIP to the real Lynyrd Skynyrd: Ronnie, Billy, Allen, Steve, and Leon. Hard to believe they all died young.... On what 2000 Man noted.... Isn't it funny that southern rednecks today are longhairs? Back in the '60s that sure as shit wasn't the case at all!
