Keno, has a 'best year in music' poll been done?

If so, consider this post a "late" reply

For me, it is most likely '66, which is probably not an uncommon choice. Aftermath, Blonde on Blonde (and Live 1966, belated), Revolver, Pet Sounds, Fresh Cream, Bluesbreakers w/Eric Clapton, A Quick One, Freak Out!, 5th Dimension, Tim Buckley, Animalism, Buffalo Springfield, and for all intents and purposes: The Doors and The Velvet Underground and Nico.

In general, I believe that the years '65-'67 (and to a slightly lesser extent, '68-'73) aren't viewed as the "golden age in rock" for nothing. But, if I had to isolate additional years, 1991 is quite good. So is 1979. After that, I'm looking for replies...
