RE: Best Frontman (or Woman)

Stop bending my rules TM. They're MY rules! LOL.

Seriously, I just want to know who people like as frontmen (and/or women... frontpersons? LOL). I thought of this following a discussion we had about The Doors on another board, when somebody mentioned what a great frontman Jim Morrison was. I gotta say that I agree. He's one of my faves too. He had a magnetic stage presence for sure. Your eyes were just drawn to Jim. Maybe his bandmembers sensed this, because those three are among the most self effacing rock musicians I know.

I like Ronnie Van Zant too. In his case, less was more. Ronnie didn't do any dancing. During the long guitar and/or piano solos, he would move to the back of the stage, not doing much of anything, and he would let his musicians take centre stage. Or he took his guitarits by the arm and brought them to the front of the stage. Clearly he meant to say it was their turn in the spotlight. I like that about him.

Those would be my two favourites, along with Mick of course.
