For this week’s weekly polls, and for the first time in 13 years of these polls, we will run 6 new poll questions in one week (2 weekly polls each for the 3 different weekly polls that we normally run). Why so many? Well, all six of the questions are related, asking the same thing, that being, dealing with rock artists being under or overrated. Last week in a thread about Bob Segar, I wondered if we ever asked in our Classic Rock Poll, which rockers were the most underrated. Turns out we did, back in 2010, and we also asked which bands were the most under and overrated. But we never asked which rockers were the most overrated, and since I already had a poll made up for this coming week I figured we could ask that question sometime later on. But – I had no clue what poll question I would ask for this week’s Stones poll and didn’t have any Beatles poll questions researched yet to use, either. So I figured why not ask these questions now in all 3 polls, since they would be easy to put together.
So, for week 676 of the Stones poll, we ask these 2 questions: Who is or was the most underrated Rolling Stone? and Who is or was the most overrated Rolling Stone?. Now, it’s important to remember one thing when voting for those Stones no longer in the band. What they have done since they left the Stones has nothing to do with the questions, we only are looking at their time while in the band and how they applied their talents to their work in the band. On the other hand, for the current Stones, do not go by only how they are today, go by how they been since the ‘60s up till now. Talents do diminish in us humans as we age, so with the current Stones, you got a bigger picture to look at, how they performed both as old men and as young kids, and did they live up to their talents overall for 50 years (other than Ronnie, he’s only been a Stone for 37 years). Yes, for MT it’s just a 5 year period, and for BJ, just shy of 7 years. Bill left in ’91, so for him, about 29 years.
Now I know the question about who is the most overrated in the Stones might be almost impossible for a hardnosed fan to answer. But there is no choice in the poll’s options for “none of them”, since we learn nothing with such choices. BTW, picking one person doesn’t mean you feel they aren’t talented, but if you don’t vote on this question, well, one Stone is gonna be picked anyway by others, so why not have a say in this?
To cast you votes in these two polls click on: Stones Weekly Poll. When you get there you will see two different links for the two different polls, so do remember to vote by clicking on each one!
In last week’s Stones poll we asked: Do you think the Stones will ever tour again? . The over whelming number of us agree they will, but only in a limited tour, as 63.2% picked that choice.

Now to the Classic Rock Poll, where it’s week 318 and the 2 questions are: Who is or was the most overrated male rocker? (Part 1 of 6) and Who is or was the most overrated female rocker? (Part 1 of 3).
I recall now why I never asked this question after asking for the most underrated rocker. It’s because it would take too many weeks to get through the question parts. So how could I shorten the many weeks of using the same question?… Well…. I decided to split up the sexes, that was one way to knock off about 75 poll choices (or a good two extra weeks of voting), since that is about how many female rockers we would vote on. So, we will run 3 parts of the question for the ladies, while running their questions in the same weeks we ask the question for the dudes, that is, at the same time.
For the male rockers question, we will take the top 5 picks each from the first 5 parts and then in part 6 vote on them again. For the female question, we’ll go with the top 10 from the first 2 parts and then vote for those in part 3. After those final parts are finished, we could combine the top picks from both of those 2 final parts, and then vote one more time. Or we may not, guess it will depend on how popular the voting is in the final weeks of this.
To cast your two votes in the Rock Poll, click here: Classic Rock Poll. Again, when you get there, you will see two different links to visit so you can vote in both polls.
In last week’s Rock Poll, we asked: What is the best Classic Rock Song about crying? (Part 3 of 3) . It wasn’t close at all, as George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” took first place with 18.4% of the vote, with that total being more than 2 times more votes than the second place choice.
What was the second place pick? You can check out the full, final results from this poll here.
Finally, to the Beatles weekly poll, where it’s week 71, and the questions are: Who was the most underrated Beatle? and Who was the most overrated Beatle? Like with the Stones questions, only consider the time the Beatles were an actual group, what they did solo after the break-up doesn’t matter or count.
To vote in this week’s Beatle polls, just click here: Beatles Weekly Poll. Again, just like the other two poll pages, when you get to this page, you will see two links to vote on, so do remember to vote in both polls.
In last week’s Beatle poll, the question was: Would The Beatles have been as successful without George Martin or Brian Epstien? Well I disagreed with the top choice, but it doesn’t matter since the majority decides the top pick, not me. That pick was: “No, they would have been less successful without both of them“ coming in at number 1 with 47.8% of the vote. My pick “Yes, they would have made it big regardless if the two were there or not.”, was a close second with 46.2%.

I thank all of you for taking the extra time to vote in all six polls this week, and for voting in our 3 polls last week!
