If epstein did not make them wear suits, stop swearing,prohibit them from mentioning the war or politics,make it appear like they never used drugs,and appear to be squeaky clean which we all know they were not,alot of parents who were already very uptight in those days would have stopped the kids from attending the shows or buying he records.The beatles would have made it without his image cleanup like the stones did,but the beatles got alot bigger than the stones partly because of epstein convincing the fans that their daughters were much safer with a beatle than a rolling stone.
