I'm pretty sure he didn't say that. In fact, because of what he claimed, that got the police to temporary re-open the case, but because of Frank's family, Tom refused to talk to the police about any of it, and the case was closed because of that. Unless he recanted right before he died and I didn't hear about it, I know up till then he never took back what he said. I recall about a year or so before he died, he was on TV talking about it, and he was still stating the same story, that Frank told him that he killed Brian.
I don't recall exactly who brought him into this, could have been Pat Andrews.
He flat out told me it was her. The two of them became instant friends after they first met, and that was why he got into it. He was a big time Beatles fan, but he wasn't a fan of the Stones, he told me he only just liked them a bit. Then he met Pat and that was what got him involved in all of this. He said that the deeper he dug, the more he learned that the whole deal was a cover-up.
At one point he wanted to have Brian's body exhumed. Gawd! I think the family told him to take a hike, as they damn well should have.
I totally disagree with you on this! They should do that, it could prove that he didn't just drown. I know, it was years ago and the guy who did it is dead now, but Brian Jones was killed, and his family has a right to know how he really died. Brian's father felt he was killed, and I never heard that anybody in his family didn't want a better investigation done, they wanted a better one done, as Lewis Jones said so in an interview. But it never got as far as to where they tried to exhume his body, it was only talked about.
He also recently took his "dossier" to Sussex police to petition to have the case reopened and was told to take another hike.
Sure, the police don't want it opened become they will come out looking bad in the end when the truth comes out, since now there is so much more to look into. This case should be re-opened! It may not bring back BJ, but it will give closure to all of this and people can stop being fed lies as to how Brian died.
