Stones, Beatles and Classic Rock Poll Questions

This week we enter what used to be the slowest week on the Internet – the week of the US 4th of July holiday, but with so many folks now on line from other countries, that hasn’t been the case for a few years now. Still, it’s a slow week anyway, with July the slowest month of the year overall on the net. On the slower weeks I like to run polls that ask questions about the fans themselves, and I’ll do that in all 3 weekly polls this week.

So, for week 674 of the Stones poll, we ask: How much of a Stones fan are you?. A pretty simple question which should take most of you reading this a second to answer and vote on. To do that, just click here: Stones Weekly Poll.

In last week’s Stones poll we asked: Rate the artwork for the front cover of the Steel Wheels album. Okay, so after rating 10 front covers of Stones LPs to date, this one has received the lowest ratings by far, and the ratings given were so poor, I’m pretty sure we will not see anything worse than what we see with these final results (at least with the studio albums, anyway). A rating of only 1.0, was the top pick with 16.9% of the votes. Usually with almost all the other albums voted on with this question, spots 8 thru 10 gets the top 3 votes. But in this poll those 3 spots took the last 3 spots and only gathered a total of 2.2% of the votes combined!

Now on to the Classic Rock Poll, where we enter week 316, and we ask: How much of a Classic Rock fan are you?. Yep, like the Stones poll, a simple question for a slow week. To cast your vote, click here: Classic Rock Poll.

In last week’s Rock Poll, we asked: What is the best Classic Rock Song about crying? (Part 2 of 3). I always like to point out that only in the final week do we have a winner in a multiple part poll question like this one, and all that matters in the first few parts of the question are the top 10 choices. But damn, did the number 1 pick this week pull off a landslide of votes! The top ten spots that will live on to be voted on again in Part 3 are: “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” - George Harrison (30.4%); “As Tears Go By” - Marianne Faithfull/The Rolling Stones (7.6%), “Fool To Cry” - The Rolling Stones (7.6%); “No Woman No Cry” - Bob Marley (7.4%); “Tears of a Clown” - Smokey Robinson & the Miracles (6.5%), “The Wind Cries Mary - Jimi Hendrix (6.5%); “Cry Baby” -Janis Joplin (6.3%); “Crying” - Roy Orbison (5.4%); “I'm Crying” - The Animals (3.5%), “I'll Cry Instead” – The Beatles (3.4%).

We had a real nice turnout for this poll question, and we will hold the final voting for Part 3 next week! You can check out the full, final results from Part 2 here.

Okay, on to the Beatles weekly poll, where it’s week 69, and perhaps by now you guessed the question, which is: How much of a Beatles fan are you? I know what you’re thinking, I really didn’t spend too much time putting these poll questions together for this week, and no, I didn’t! But still, such questions do tell us what kinds of fans who vote in these polls each week, are.

To vote in this week’s Beatle poll, just click here: Beatles Weekly Poll.

In last week’s Beatle poll, the question was: Which is your favorite Beatles nickname? This poll questions turned out being more popular than I figured it would. The top choice was a landslide pick, with “The Fab Four (or The Fabs)” grabbing 33.5% of the votes.

The final top 4 results from this poll will also show up on this Beatles List page: Beatles Miscellaneous Lists.

I thank all of you for taking a part in the voting in the different polls we have here at keno.org!
