RE: RE: RE: Mick T., Bill Wyman, Ronnie Together

Well, I was so happy to think I was going to see Ronnie in Atlantic City. I found out about one day before I was due to fly to New Jersey to see a musician less famous than Ronnie, who was playing in New Jersey on Friday and Saturday night (20th and 21st April). It was the weekend before my 60th birthday, and I'd decided to do something a bit memorable - didn't want to spend it in isolation like my 50th b.day, so then Wednesday night I read that Ronnie was playing 50 miles south of where I was to stay. Changed my plans, hired a car, and so on, knowing I'd have to drive all the way back to the airport after the gig as I had an early morning flight back to London. Friday night was a mixed bag because it was the 21st Anniversary of Steve's death, but I had a lovely low key night, people were friendly, and I went back to my hotel feeling so happy at the friendliness on the Jersey shoreline. The next day I drove to Atlantic City, got there early as rain was forecasted. Collected my ticket, saw a couple of people I've seen at Mac's gigs in London as well as at some Rolling Stones concerts (a Japanese lady and a lady from London) which was nice, chatted to someone from New York. Saw Bernard walk through and he said "hi" to people he recognised. Had standing ticket, so was at the back, and was very happy there. Was thoroughly enjoying the concert, and then the person from New York suggested we went to the front for the encore, so we did, and then everything went really pear shaped - oh well. Anyway, I'm going tonight, miht have a spare ticket as my friend's being worked to the bone at her new job 7 days a week 10 - 12 hours plus a day, and might be totally wiped out, even though she's looking forward to going (she knows nothing of my upset - well why bother people with misery). She's an acquaintance of mine, and I give her treats now and again because her life's such a drudge to survive, so this is her b.day treat, and she's been really looking forward to it, but she's got up at 4.30 a.m. to work 10 - 12 hours today, so I'm guessing she'll be too exhausted. Meantime, I've got to search for my Dad's keys, his 90th b.day fruit cake (massive, but missing and not in the rubbish or recycling and probably not fed to the birds as no signs of box or base that cake sits on), and if I'm lucky might do some housework in my home. Highest priority of the day, sit outside in the sunshine for ten minutes too feel the sun's rays warm me.
