That is excellent news Sherat, I'm so happy for you and your dad! Poor Sue's lungs were so bad that they could not operate on her, even early on.
I've read that if your parents have lung problems, you are more likely to have the same problems in time, too. Sue's mom is still alive today at 92, but she didn't smoke. Her dad died at 77 from emphysema, and he stopped smoking at 50. But, he started to smoke at 5 - yes, I said 5 years old! He lived on a tobacco farm in the south and he was 5 years old around 1910 if I recall. Of course, they didn't know anything about the dangers of smoking back in those days, and from what he told me, his parents thought his smoking as a preteen was funny.
