That's awful about how Sue had to go through what she did, even though she was proactive by taking care of herself by quitting smoking when she learned she had COPD.
She started smoking when she was only 14. I met her at 19 and for 30 years I tried (on and off) to get her to stop, but she was a junkie's junkie to tobacco. Then when she was told she had COPD, and that she had to stop or it would kill her, that was what got her to stop. But it was too late by then, although had she not stopped at that time, I bet she would had died within 5 years, instead she lived for 9 more years after that.
