RE: Happy 70th Birthday to Paul McCartney (NSC)

Amazing how high grade his perfomances are even at this point in time. I've been a Beatles fan for deacades but Paul has been the only Beatle which sometimes got on my nerves. In recent years my respect for him has increased to a heights without limit.

I hope to see Paul in concert. Too bad I didn't see him on tour ten or more years ago. It's amazing how he is now 70 years old!

Anyway, T-Man, I have felt the same way about Paul, but more so in the past few years, and not so much in years prior. He has been the only Beatle to get on my nerves too (at times). It's been a situation where my respect for John has increased at the same time that Paul would get more on my nerves. It was a situation where I almost was getting why John wanted out of the Beatles (because of Paul).

Well, here is what it really boils down to: as a Beatles fan I'm surprised that it's taken me THIS LONG to get a Ringo album, but I bought a greatest hits album of Ringo's last fall, and the song "Early 1970" resonated with me as far as Paul blowing off the Beatles and Ringo, whereas John and George could still be relied on (as far as Ringo was concerned). My two favorite songs of Ringo's are "I'm the Greatest" and "Goodnight Vienna," which are both were written by John! I'd recommend listening to John's demos of those two songs.

The other thing is, why won't Paul and Ringo tour together or create some sort of album?

"Early 1970" got me thinking that maybe it was really Paul who broke up the Beatles!
