I remember that Ronnie said he had a "bit of emphysema" too. It made me assume that he quit, but who knows? My father's first cousin said the same thing when he was diagnosed with emphysema. As you said, Keno, you either have it or you don't. I suppose though if it's minor, it's treatable, especially if Ronnie quits smoking once and for all.
When did MJ quit? The last time I saw a picture of him with a cigarette was from the '60s! He was way ahead of his time by quitting in the 60s (or maybe later), when virtually everyone smoked back then.
