I’m running real late tonight, I hope this poll post makes sense in how it’s reads….

For week 672 of our Stones poll, we ask: Rate the artwork for the front cover of the Bridges To Babylon album. Released back in 1997, to mixed reviews. Perhaps this is one of the rare Stones albums that didn’t grow on me after I wasn’t over-thrilled with it after the first several spins. But this poll isn’t about the music inside; it’s about the front cover. There’s a drawing of a dickless lion on the LP’s cover, If you got the CD when it first came out, you also received a thin slipcase covering that fit around the CD, interesting, I guess.

In last week’s Stones poll we asked two poll questions. The first poll question was: Rate the artwork for the front cover of the Aftermath (US) album. The question for poll two was: Rate the artwork for the front cover of the Aftermath (UK) album. I was hoping after we ran these questions we might be able to find out which LP cover fans liked better, but from the results, it isn’t easy to tell. Both LP covers had a “10.0” rating for their top pick, with similar numbers for the other spots between the two album covers.

Let’s head on to the Classic Rock Poll, where we enter week 315, and ask: What is the best Classic Rock Song about crying? (Part 1 of 3). I was thinking of running a question about sad songs, but there are just too many such songs, I think we would be voting on that question for weeks on end if we did. But there aren’t anywhere as many songs about plain out crying. So we are not looking for sad songs that might make you cry, just songs that are about the subject matter.
I found just enough crying songs so that we will vote in 3 parts to this question, with the top picks from week 1 and 2 going up against each other in part 3. To cast your vote in Part 1, click here: Classic Rock Poll.
In last week’s Rock Poll, we asked this question: What is your favorite Rock Song about Cars? (Part 3 of 3). This was a fun question to ask, and we finally got an answer after 3 weeks of polling. The favorite car song picked is: “Born to Run” by Bruce Springsteen. I don’t always pick a winner in these polls, but I usually like the final top pick regardless, but I’m not so crazy for this pick. This song is more about leading a wild life, it’s not just a car song. But it don’t matter what I feel, it’s what everybody combined feels. The polling was about as close as it could get, with 3 songs tying for the #2 spot, and seven songs tying for the number 5 spot to round out the top 10 song list.

Okay, now to the Beatles weekly poll, where it’s week 67, and the new question is: What is the most childlike sounding Beatles song? First, I was running late tonight and only realized about 30 minutes after the poll automatically started, that I had the wrong poll question running this week, which was a copy of poll which already ran. I messed up when I built the poll late Friday night and I ended up directing the poll’s program to copy an old poll and replace the new poll and its question, which I had built just minutes before. That is the first time since 1999 I made a mistake like that; just shows you what being overworked will do to you! So to those of you who voted in that incorrect poll, sorry, but you will be able to vote again in this new and correct poll.
So let’s look at the correct poll and question at hand for this week. I came up with 14 Beatle songs I felt sounded child-like, or in the case of at least 2 songs listed, were actually written to be a children songs. In a few cases, the songs were not meant at all to be kids songs, like “Piggies”, but hell, I recall some 20 plus years ago how that song was my then preteen son’s favorite Beatle song, the song wasn’t about barnyard animals of course, but he didn’t know that at the time.
To vote in this Beatle poll, just click here: Beatles Weekly Poll.
Last week’s Beatle poll question was: What is the Beatles most underrated song? By one vote, “Hey Bulldog” was the top pick, with “And Your Bird Can Sing” placing.

The final top results from this poll will also show up on the Beatles List page: Underrated/Overrated.
I thank all of you who vote each week in our 3 weekly polls and who by doing so helps to make for such interesting final results!
