Thanks, Boss! That's really an ideal set-up for me...I find myself stopping in the middle of stories and saying "Have I told you this already?" a lot these days.
As Bob Dylan said - "Lotta water under the bridge - lotta other stuff too." Ah, but I was so much older then...I'm younger than that now.
(Why am I quoting Dylan on a Stones board?!?)
I went through a period where I was actually sick of the Stones. Spiraling ticket prices, endless rehashes of old stuff, live albums and greatest hits, embarrassing mis-steps and tabloid misadventures. But lately my Boys have started pulling it together and acting with some integrity. The re-releases of Exile and Some Girls were handled nicely, I thought. I went to see both "Ladies and Gentlemen" and "Some Girls Live in Texas" on their one day run at the local multiplex, and they both blew me away. The $5 bootleg downloads they started releasing are AWESOME, and starting the series with a beautifully remastered Brussels Affair made it seem like the Stones finally realize why WE love them.
Mick's last few public appearances have been incendiary, Woody actually kicked booze and is playing great, Charlie's bringing his jazz band to NYC...I just hope Keith can rise to the occasion too. If he does, it will be a thing of power and beauty.
