One of the first was "Mercy Mercy" in '65. On the choruses, Mick sings falsetto along with his regular lower voice, with Keith adding a harmony in-between. I remember hearing that the vocal arrangement for this recording was influenced by 60's vocal duo Dick & Dee Dee. Dick St. John doubled his vocals with a falsetto on top, and Dee Dee was the mid-harmony. Around this time the Stones played back-up instrumentation to D&DD's cover of "Blue Turns to Grey".
