I just received a very sad email from my friend and fellow Gasser Maxmeister. His wife Deb, who several of us here personally knew, passed away on Friday. I know that all of us Gassers morn her passing, she was a wonderful person who was full of life.
Max's email, which came in the last hour, really got to me, made me start to think of my Sue and her passing last year. Losing your mate, at least for most people, is something you never totally get over, especially when it happens before the two of you become seniors. You just don't expect it to happen before you grow old, even if in my and Maxmeister's case, we knew our loved ones were sick and would not be around for long. Their loss stings.
I first met Max and Deb in Denver at one of our Gassy get-togethers. Our last visit together was just a few years back, when the two of them came to Crestone for a visit and stayed a couple of nights. Those were all good times that I'll always remember!
Below is a photo of us together back in 2003, Debbie is sitting next next to Maxmeister and directly across from me. Others in the photo, taken by Payphone Al are Jaxx and Kalistongue.
RIP Deb, you will be missed, and Rick, I'm so very sorry for your loss.
