Interesting thing on this song is that because of those unexpected, spontaneous dog barks made by Paul at the end of the song, Lennon on the spot changed the closing lyrics he had written (and was about to sing), from "Hey bullfrog", to "Hey bulldog", and in time the song's title was also changed to "Hey Bulldog" because of Paul's unexpected barking at the end. Plus Lennon did have "bullfrog" written in both the very beginning of the song's lyrics, and at the very end, but thanks to Paul, only in the beginning did "bullfrog" stay in the lyrics. However, it isn't true that the song's title at first was "Hey Bullfrog", the original title was "You Can Talk To Me".
Interesting. I'd never heard that story. I have an outtake of this song where they added a lot of actual dogs barking, and the "human" barking is in the early part of the song. I have no idea whether it was recorded before or after the take that eventually made the album. I also have a couple of incomplete very early takes in which John and Paul are working on how to sing a specific part and these are titled "She Can Talk to Me" and that's what you can hear them sing very distinctly.
Yellow Submarine album:
The most disliked.... really, the only disliked Beatles LP noted by many of their fans.
Can it even be called a Beatles album? This is the only one I never bought on CD so it's been many years since I last heard the whole thing, but I just had a quick glance at my old vinyl copy. Side 2 is all non-Beates music from the movie. Side 1 has six songs, two of which had been previously released (including the title track, which originally appeared on Revolver). No wonder the fans disliked the album! They probably felt cheated. With good reason IMO.
I personally don't care for the song YS and usually skip it, moving on straight to She Said She Said. In a band with three better-than-average singers, Ringo sticks out like a sore thumb, Ronnie.
