Hey Bulldog..... Paul and John's antics at the end, Ringo's drum sound... GREAT tune.
Interesting thing on this song is that because of those unexpected, spontaneous dog barks made by Paul at the end of the song, Lennon on the spot changed the closing lyrics he had written (and was about to sing), from "Hey bullfrog", to "Hey bulldog", and in time the song's title was also changed to "Hey Bulldog" because of Paul's unexpected barking at the end. Plus Lennon did have "bullfrog" written in both the very beginning of the song's lyrics, and at the very end, but thanks to Paul, only in the beginning did "bullfrog" stay in the lyrics. However, it isn't true that the song's title at first was "Hey Bullfrog", the original title was "You Can Talk To Me".

Hey Bulldog.... This song is in my top 5 Beatles songs. A haunting song with vivid imagery by John Lennon....
I had to comment on this, because it was this song that made me think of asking this poll question in the first place (although it wasn't the song I voted for). While some friends were over visiting a few weeks ago, I was playing the White album, and their 10 year old son noted to me that he liked the Beatles a lot. So I asked him what was his favorite Beatles' song and he said "Hey Bulldog", which was a bit of a shock to me to hear coming from a kid, since it's such a deep cut, and most kids today are not into the Beatles, and if they are, you think they would not know a deep cut like HB.
DA also noted....
....A truly great song [HB] which had the misfortune of ending up on a filler album.
The most disliked.... really, the only disliked Beatles LP noted by many of their fans.
I'm kinda puzzled by the presence of the song Yellow Submarine in this poll.
If you know Beatle fans well enough, then you know why YS is included. It has always been one of their more hated songs - by about half of their fans ("half" is my guess, and I know I'm real close with that guess). The other half of us dig it - I rate it a 10 myself. But so many Beatle fans dislike that song - along with the album of the same name (as you kinda noted above; many Beatle fans look at the YS LP as Stones fans look at DW).... Plus remember, this poll is not asking about well known songs, we are asking for the most underrated song, and if half their fans dislike YS, then, IMO, it's underrated, in fact, it's the song I voted for! I think it's a wonderful song, and one of those songs that we all had fun with back in the day of the Paul is dead rumor, as it had a few clues to his death being covered up in the lyrics.
