For week 671 of our Stones poll, we are running two polls. The first poll question is: Rate the artwork for the front cover of the Aftermath (US) album. The question for poll two is: Rate the artwork for the front cover of the Aftermath (UK) album.
This LP of course had two different covers, one for the US release, and a different cover for the one released in the UK. I was tempted to also ask which cover fans like more, but I think we should learn that by comparing the final results from both polls this time next week.
This is the oldest LP we have rated in this series of questions on LP covers, so perhaps when we vote on the older albums, that we should consider that up to around this time (mid ‘60s), the way rock album covers would look were not though out too much by the bands or their managers; usually just a photo of the band/artist was what was on the cover. But things were starting to change on how rock covers looked around the time of this release. Still, this LP’s two covers were just shots of the Boys, so if we do compare results from these two polls next week, it will be more like finding out which picture fans like best,.
To rate the two different covers of Aftermath , just click here: Stones Weekly Poll. When you get to the page, you will see two different links for voting, so do make sure you vote in both polls.
In last week’s Stones poll we asked: Rate the artwork for the front cover of the Goats Head Soup album

Of the albums that we have voted on cover wise so far, GHS has received the lowest rating. “7” was the top pick, with 18%, and ratings “5” thru “10” were all very close in the final tally, bringing in 86.8% of the votes.

On to the Classic Rock Poll, where we enter week 314, and asked this question: What is your favorite Rock Song about Cars? (Part 3 of 3).
But first, let’s look at the final results from Part 2 of this question before we vote in Part 3! The top 10 final picks that go on to Part 3 of this question are: “Born to Run” - Bruce Springsteen (6.4%); “Going Mobile” - The Who (5.7%), “Route 66” - Various artists (5.7%); “Fun, Fun, Fun” - The Beach Boys (5.5%); “Mustang Sally” - Wilson Pickett (5.5%); “Radar Love” - Golden Earring (5.3%), “Start Me Up” - The Rolling Stones (5.3%); “Crosstown Traffic” - Jimi Hendrix (5.1%), “Dead Man's Curve” - Jan and Dean (5.1%), “Long May You Run” - Neil Young (5.1%), “No Particular Place To Go” - Chuck Berry (5.1%).
Okay, so we have a final of 21 songs to pick a top car song from in Part 3. To cast your vote in this final Car Poll, click here: Classic Rock Poll.
BTW, you can check out the full, final results from Part 2 of this question here.
Okay, now to the Beatles weekly poll, where it’s week 66, and the new question is: What is the Beatles most underrated song? Let’s face it, if there is one band that has few underrated songs, it’s songs made by the Fabs. Still, it depends on what you mean by underrated, and there are a few such Beatle songs, in fact I came up with 43 songs, and I could have added in a few more. But I think we have enough underrated songs to choose from as is. Many of these songs were written or sang by George, others sung by Ringo, and a few were John and Paul songs, some written by them two, but sung by the other two. Plus we have a few cover songs mixed in, too.
To vote in this Beatle poll, just click here: Beatles Weekly Poll.
Last week’s Beatle poll question was: Of the top Bealte songs written by each Beatle, as chosen in our polls, which one is your favorite? Of the 6 songs listed, three of them pulled in 87.5% of all the votes. The top pick went to John Lennon’s “A Day in the Life”. Lennon is of course my favorite Beatle, and that is one great song, but it’s not my favorite Lennon song and was my third pick overall out of the songs listed last week.

The final top results from this poll will also show up on this new Beatles List page: http://www.keno.org/john_lennon/beatle_song_writing.htm.
Thanks to all of you who take part in all of our weekly and on-going polls!
