For week 670 of our Stones poll, the question is: Rate the artwork for the front cover of the Goats Head Soup album. The album that most Stones fans point to as the band’s most underrated LP, and I agree! But what about the cover? Kinda unusual cover I’d say, with just MJ’s face shown, and of course, the back cover and inside show the other Stones’ faces, but just what is going on with the way they appear, as it looks like their faces are going through some kind of force field….. or…. whatever! I’m not really sure what they were trying to portray with this art work, but the added goats head diner dish poster was interesting, I guess.
To rate the Goat’s Head Soup LP cover, just click here: Stones Weekly Poll.
In last week’s Stones poll we asked: Rate the artwork for the front covers of the Some Girls album

Fans like this cover (or should I say, the different covers), enough to give it the highest rating, a “10”, as the top spot in the final results, grabbing 30.1% of the votes in a landslide pick.

Okay, at the Classic Rock Poll, we enter week 313, and asked this question: What is your favorite Rock Song about Cars? (Part 2 of 3).
Well I was correct, voters liked this subject title, as we had a nice turnout for part 1. Same deal applies this week; the top 10 songs picked from this poll will show up in Part 3 with the top songs from Part 1. Just remember, don’t vote for a song because it’s an overall favorite tune, we are looking for the best song about cars, not your favorite song overall. I say that in part because I know a bunch of you Stones fans are gonna vote for “Start Me Up” this week without thinking about how great a car song it may be. Yes, it also sounds real good at the start of football games, too, but none of that matters. Only if you think it’s also the best car song listed this week, should you vote for it.

Last week’s Rock question was: What is your favorite Rock Song about Cars? (Part 1 of 3) Part 1 saw some interesting and close results. The top 10 songs that live on to Part 3 of the voting are: “I Get Around” by The Beach Boys (top pick by one vote, at 6.1%); “Drive My Car” by The Beatles (5.9%); “Mercedes Benz” by Janis Joplin (5.5%); “Maybellene” by Chuck Berry (5.3%); “Under My Wheels” by the Alice Cooper Group (5.1%); “Taxi” by Harry Chapin and “Thunder Road” by Bruce Springsteen (both at 5%); and “I'm In Love With My Car” by Queen, “Panama” by Van Halen, and “Trampled Underfoot” by Led Zeppelin (all at 4.4%)

Now on to the Beatles weekly poll, let’s first look at the final results from the 3 Beatle polls we ran last week, since their top picks will be in this week’s poll options. The first poll question last week was: What is your favorite Beatles song written by George Harrison? The number one spot was neck and neck all week long between two songs: “Here Comes the Sun” and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”. So close when I build’s this week’s new poll Friday night, I guessed that “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” would win and included it in the choices for the new poll, as it was leading all week by a vote or two votes most days. But this weekend that changed and “Here Comes the Sun” over took the lead and kept it as the voting ended (taking first place with 19.6% of the vote). So I had to make changes to the choices in the new poll in the last minute and change songs! But heck, either song would have been a great pick. George’s top pick is just as strong as the ones we picked for Lennon and McCartney. We will see how it stands up to those songs in this week’s polling.
The second Beatle poll question asked: Of the two Beatle songs written by Ringo Starr, which one is your favorite? Ringo’s “Octopus's Garden” got the nod by 7 votes over the song I voted for, “Don't Pass Me By”. So it joins this week’s list of songs to be voted on.
Okay, so finally, the third poll question was: Of the four Beatles songs written by the entire group, which one is your favorite? This a was a contest between only two songs, and “Dig It” won by a small margin of 3 votes over “Flying”. I was very surprised to see that the other two songs got as many votes as they did…. So “Dig It” is the last songs to join this week’s song list.
Okay then, for week 65 of the Beatles’ poll, the question is: Of the top Beatle songs written by each Beatle, as chosen in our polls, which one is your favorite?” We now have the six songs that we fans picked in the last few weeks of voting, to choose from in this week’s poll.

The final top results from these polls will also show up on this new Beatles List page: http://www.keno.org/john_lennon/beatle_song_writing.htm.
I thank all of you who took the time to vote in all 5 polls last week, and for voting again in our three new weekly polls this week!
