I believe Jagger thanked Steve Martin simply for being there. Jagger said, he, Jagger, wrote the election blues song just before he performed it.

I thought the entire show was highly entertaining, with the 19thNB and IORR medley, with the Foo Fighters, being the highlight of highlights. Some Great Rock And Roll!
