RE: Firsts

First 45 - American Pie. God, I loved that record. I don't think I can hardly stand it any more.

First LP - Gary Lewis and the Playboys Greatest Hits. The first one I bought with my own money was Bachman Turner Overdrive II. I still think that album is pretty kick ass.

First 8 track - Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies. I had a lot of 8 tracks for awhile. I never got Yes on 8 track because the songs were too long and would thunk in the middle, but bands with shorter songs it was okay, so long as you had an automatic player. Otherwise you had to press the button to move the head or it would just play the same two or three songs over and over. I have a copy of Some Girls still.

First Cassette - Don't remember. I hate tape on general principle. I had some, but mostly just recorded my own because they were SO much better than the store bought ones. I still have Highwire on cassette.

First CD - Aerosmith Toys in the Attic. When I bought my first cd player, I bought it at Sears. It was an LXI, the house audio brand at Sears. It was a 400 dollar player but I had a coupon that you had to rub off at the store to find your savings, anywhere between 10 and 90%. I was able to hold it close to a light bulb and see that mine was 80% off. So I went and got my first cd player and a cd for 100 bucks at a time when it would still be years before anyone sold one that cheap. It sounded pretty good, too. I traded the Aerosmith cd for Rocks a few years later. The only reason I bought it was because Sears only had about fifteen cd's and that was the closest to something I might like I could find.

First Download? Who knows. I do it so seldom anymore. I just started getting bored with bootlegs for the most part. I still listen to some of them, but of the googob I have I only listen to a small handful anymore.
