I think you're missing the point. If the Hall Of Fame were in fact like you said, just as good as The Beatles or The Stones, than no, many groups shouldn't be in there. But to single out GNR is wrong. It is what it is, and the hall Of Fame is what is is, everyone in there are not The Beatles or The Stones. And in all fairness, imo there never will be another Beatles or Stones. But GNR were the biggest band in the world at one point. Isn't that enough? I know you don't count album sales, but they did have an impressive amount. I also find it hard to believe Kiss, Rush, Deep Purple, and The Scorpions are not in there. Deep Purple probably has the 2nd most recognizable riff in rock history with Smoke On The Water, behind The Stones Satisfaction.
