Yes, he still is. In fact, me and my late soul mate/wife Sue saw him play live - in of all places - The Rock 'n Roll Hall Of Fame! It was in either '99, or '97, we took trips back east via car in both those years. We stopped off in Cleveland just to visit the Hall after Sue insisted. I must say, I had a much better time that I ever dreamed, in part because it was a special day where they were holding these free concerts outside of the Hall, and we had no idea we were getting live shows as part of our visit! Plus talk about good timing, Donovan was taking the stage as we walked up to the Hall! I'll add, he was great live. Funny that he was playing for the Hall, yet he was still more than 10 years away from getting in!

LOL! As I noted in my other post, she is pick #3 in our poll. Yet I agree with 2000 Man, I've never been a fan of hers, in fact I can't think of even one song of hers that I like! But, it isn't just who we like. She should be in there regardless if I dislike her music because so many love her music and she has so many hits, which, like them or not, are Rock songs.

I agree with most of what you say, just not with some of who you don't think should be in. CCR? For sure they should be in. But yes, it should take a lot more than just one good LP to get in. Plus if you only released one LP, how the hell do you get in on that, and on your first try? No other Hall of Fames do that! Example - football - my Broncos won their second Super Bowl in part because of one of the greatest RBs to play - Terrell Davis, and he isn't in the Football Hall and he should't be. Why, he only played for 4 years! Yet the Sex Pistols get in to the Rock Hall with just one LP that only two members of the band played instruments on (yes, Johnny Rotten sang the songs, but he didn't play any instruments on them). Thing is, I liked the Sex Pistols and don't mean to put them down, but they just didn't deserve to be in the Rock Hall, and going by what 2000 Man states, no Punk band or Rappers ever would get in.
Anyway, I try to stay off my computer on Saturdays, but thanks to my new job with Sirius XM Radio (and my other PT jobs), I'm falling behind once again in building our new weekly polls that start tomorrow nite, so I came to the computer to do that today, and I also decided to check up on this thread, after receiving a email from a lurker about it. Since I had no clue what Rock poll to run for next week, and the lurker asked me why I don't have a On Going Poll asking who should be in the Hall who isn't, well, why not ask that for next week's Rock poll question? So I'm gonna do that now! Reason why I don't run this question as a on going poll is simple, what happens in the future when those listed make it into the Hall? For starters, when I would have to remove them it would make the total poll vote tally all messed up. So perhaps I'll just run this question once a year as a weekly poll? Not sure, but I'll run it next week for sure. Now I got to go build it along with the other two polls. I already got the Beatles poll ready, but have no clue what to run for the Stones, maybe I'll go with what SP suggested the other day. Lucky for me it isn't nice outside here today, still, I rather not work on Saturday, I should be at the hot springs damn it! But so goes life, and this domain.....
