In a perfect world the HOF would be just like you say. That's the way I would like to see it too. It should be a very exclusive, cream-of-the-crop affair. But that's not what it is. And it never had a chance to be. Because ultimately, it's not about celebrating the very best, it's about selling more music.

I cannot stand Madonna but I also think that she's not rock: she's pop. As is Abba. Both acts should have been DQd on that alone, regardless of what anyone thinks of their music.
