One time I was camping with my parents and we were crossing from near Glacier Nat'l Park to go to Lake Louise. They stopped us, started taking everything out of the car, were looking through my notebooks and my brothers camera equipment, searched us, interviewed us all separately, and even looked in my bro's cigarette package (the agent even gave me a snide askance glance while she was doing it).

I was sweating bullets, 'cause i had something that could have gotten me in alot of trouble hidden underneath a bunch of tampons in an altoids can. And they were looking through EVERYTHING.

This was pre-9/11. We were generally bewildered (while I was specifically terrified/relieved they stopped in time).
