I recall the second time I went with my dad, it was on a whim to see the Mets play the Expos, that kind of visit would be out for sure.

My father lives close to the US border, and he and his GF used to cross the border every now and then to have lunch in the US, or spend an afternoon there, or whatever (I think Malone, NY, is where they used to go). The last time they did it was some time after 9/11 and the border guy gave them so much grief that they vowed never to return. And they never did.
