Are you in the GTA? If so, it shouldn't take nearly that long. Last time I renewed mine I did it by mail and I had it in my hands within a couple of weeks. The trick is to make sure that you do include all the required documents. And that your photos comply with the latest, ever increasingly crazy, standards. To make sure they do, spend the few extra bucks to get the job done by a professional.
