So it sounds like the film editors worked with several run-throughs of the song, taking the original first half and the best second half of "A Quick One"?
Yes, something like that. It had to do with the part where the water was coming off of Keith's drums. It didn't work out right the first time, so they played the second part of the song over again and combined the two. Still, I agree, it was a great performance, even if it took two takes.
I saw The Who in their prime, too. A fantastic show, and I'm actually a big fan of theirs. I also have no problem in seeing Pete and Rodger playing together still. Just don't lie and say that is the Who up there. It isn't! The Who as a band is dead, half of them are dead and you can't bring them back, therefore, no more Who. The Two claiming to be the Who is a fraud, including the recorded background music and vocals they now use when they play "live". How phony can they get?
