Witness the closing of Rock-n-Roll circus where Mick and Keith huddled together and sang along to the album track for "Salt of the Earth". Ironically as far as comparisons go, it was Who's electrifying "Circus" performance that set the standard for what a great live performance is all about.

I guess most don't know this, but what you see on film of the Who at the Circus wasn't really recorded "live" either! Yes, they played live - but they re-recorded and re-played the second half of the song twice and what you see on film was the combo of the two! Another sad but true Who fact about what one might think is them playing totally "live".
