Aside from the fact that these are two of the biggest metro areas and diehard fan bases in the US, like them or hate them, these were two great teams. Neither pennant winner was a fluke. The reigning champs against the winningest franchise in history. Between the Yanks, Phils, Dodgers, and Angels, Fox couldn't really get bad ratings. Plus, this series had so many big names. In 20 years time, we will marvel at how many HOFers participated in this fall classic. I figure 10, give or take.
