Comments and questions on Keno's book

I've been wanting to ask Keno a few questions which were answered in his book's chapter titled "Questions & Answers". First, I never knew that Linda McCartney was the "divorcee from NYC" whom Mick wrote about in "Honky Tonk Woman"! Anything more to the story on that? I did know that he slept with her, but that was it.

Then even more interesting was what was written about the troubadours that come up in "Sympathy For The Devil". Keno suggests a few clues who the were - but he seems to go mainly with the belief that Mick was writing about the Beatles. Again, something that got by me! Was wondering what my fellow Gassers think of this? Was it really the Beatles Mick was singing about at that one point of the song? Keno made a good point on why the troubadours could have been the Beatles, but he didn't flat out say they were for sure. Maybe they were those World Word Two fighters from the UK (I had heard that before), or Christians missionaries, or those '60s hippies? I'm glad he noted all of them under that question's answer.

I also just wanted to leave a comment about the many wonderful photos in the book. Did Philip Kamin take most of them? I have a few favorites in there. I love the one that is in the Table of Contents of Mick and Ronnie. It is only the second photo you see in the book when you open it up and a excellent way to get it all going I felt, great placement in there! Then that pic of Mick wearing the American and UK flag on page 72, but it isn't the one we usually see. I know Kamin took that other photo of him wearing the flag, and I bet it is his most famous shot ever taken (and it's not in the book). But this other one is just as good! Then on the very next page, that one of Charlie, Ron, MJ and Keith, an fantastic group shot. But it is mainly Mick who catches my eye in here. He is shirtless and well, such shots always get my attention! The best photo of Brian was the closeup of him on page 46, he looks somewhat stoned out, even if I'll take a guess and say that photo was taken before he was abusing drugs. But that look on his face is wonderful, again, he either just smoke a joint or was in deep thought. I also like the photo of Anita Pallenberg opposite that one, too. Really, most of the photos of Brian I never saw before, but that was the case with most of the photos in the book. I also had seen the "holding hands" band photo taken in '69 right before Brian died, but not the shot of it shown in the book. I like this one even more. Mick comes out better in it. Really I could go on and on about some of the great Stones photos in there. Those photos of the Stones' ladies and their kids were cool, too, and I even loved the blended collage shot of the Gassers. Guess you put that one together yourself Keno? I'll add, the only non-Stones related photo in the book, of the Beatles, is also excellent. I never saw that one before either! Where did you find that?

I very much did enjoy this book, not only for the many different photos, but for the excellent read. I do like your writing style Keno; the reader will not get bored at all reading this book and I did find it hard to put down! You really did some "rolling thru the Stones" in there! A fine job over all!
