>.....like many of you i am "too young" for the usual colonoscopy at 50
For me I was lucky when my doctor recommended I have a colonoscopy. I was having some real bad problems - hell, I almost missed the Stones show in Denver because of those problems, and I didn't have a clue what was wrong, even the doctor wasn't sure. So finally, just over a year ago I had a colonoscopy, and damn if they found a few polyps in me that they removed. After that my problems disappeared and now I know I have to have a colonoscopy more often than the average person, since I'm likely to get them again, and if you dont treat them, they could turn into cancer. Lucky for me, Colorado is one of the leading states in giving free colonoscopies, they take the money from the cigarette tax to pay for it. So yes, if you are over 50, you need to have a colonoscopy done. I was actually lucky I had symptoms, many people who have polyps do not, and again, removing them is a key, if you don't want to get colon cancer, that is.
