Thanks for your replies so far, here is a reply from me to a few of you.....
>I have heard something about people getting sick from meat when off it for a while but I think it is more attributed to all the shit they put into the cows....So perhaps it is the shit in the meat they add that you are actually reacting to.
Great point, didn't think of that, and the funny thing was, I did look in the organic meats section first and almost got my steak from there - but it cost $2.00 a pound more! Why the hell do they do that anyway? Healthy organic foods always cost more - shit, they should cost less, after all they are putting less additives into organic foods!
>You didn't happen to have soem Red Wine with the meat by any chance did you? Red WIne is the King of hang overs.
Yes, I know from the last time I had some, 3 years ago! I might be of Italian descent, and my parents drank a class of wine every damn nite, but for whatever reason, unless it is real cheap wine, I don't like the way it tastes, so I don't drink wine at all.
>People are made to eat meet. Moderation, balance and variety is the way in every corner of life.
Right, where to draw the line is the question. I read somewhere that the average American had 2 pounds of undigested rotting meat in their stomachs all the time - which leads to cancer and other stuff. If we all ate less meat, then meat would not be harmful us.
>You hardly eat it and you bought a great big one? I can see why you're hurting!
Yes, it was a fucking giant one! But that is me, if I'm going to do something like that, especially if it has been a long time, then I go overboard!
>Go soak in your spring. That will make you feel better.
Ah yes, that would be great, and it's the only thing that brings down my blood pressure, since the pills they are giving me don't work. But I had all of this work to do today, and now because my domain is messed up I can't (in fact I'm on hold with my host as I type this out). It is also cloudy here now, might even rain - hey, we actually got our first rain of the year here yesterday, but it is still snowing above town, about a thousand feet up the mountain!
>If you get a chance, you should check out the documentary: King Corn (2007)
I will, thanks.
>Very interesting. You might not want to eat meat again or atleast limit your intake to only organic meats.
Giving up meat can be the same as giving up a drug or drink, you like it but you know it may not be a good thing to do. One thing I am good at is if I quit something, and it isn't around me anymore, I don't need it and can get by without it. But damn, if I'm going to cook meat for the family, sooner or later I'm gonna want some - and will have some. That is why I don't go to bars at all anymore. If I'm in a bar, I'm gonna drink like a fish, and I can't do that any longer, unless I want to cash in my chips years early.
>Reading through your (Keno) post, I am not sure why you wouldn't have the same problem with ground beef as well.
Agree, but maybe it is because when I have ground beef with the family, I don't eat as much of it, as I have to share it. When I had that steak in NY last year - same deal, boy did I want more, but there was no more left. So I'm sure eating like a pig has something to do with it. Guess that is one reason single people live less than married couples do, you do live differently when you are alone. Damn, I was half enjoying the silent and cleaner house I've had to live in the last few weeks, and when I go to the hot springs alone, I don't have to play lifegard anymore, I can just close my eyes and sleep while I soak in the warm waters. But then you trade all of that for these other kinds of problems, so I guess having a family around is cool and better for your health overall. I do miss the hugs that come from your kids and wife, too, that adds to your well being, for sure.
>I can't believe we're chatting about poo on Gasland LOL!..
I can, knowing this crazy place!
Great news, they just solved the problem I was having with my domain as I was on hold typing this reply out! Gee, now I can get back to work - so maybe that isn't great news after all?!
Don't ya love off topic posts, Ronnie?
