I don't think the band was in any danger of breaking up. They had already replaced Brian before he was killed. The band was going to go on, the only question was how Brian would fit in.
yes, Mick T. was a blessing for the Stones but Brian did not have to die. That is the point. Even we Brian fans know he was bound to leave the Stones but there was no reason for him to be killed. A lot of us are happy he left the Stones because it brought him some peace. Or so we are told. So perhaps it was the best for the Stones that he left. But...it should never have got to the point he had to leave. I say it is not a question of Brian being the cause for a potential break-up, I would blame that on Anita and Keith.
I have always written that Mick and Keith perfected Brian's dream. There is no doubt tht they created the modern Stones. But think what they gave up. They lost a genius.
They way he left, meaning getting killed, could not be the "best" for the Stones because Brian "could" have come back. Him being dead altered all the potentials of a Brian/Stones relationship.
But thanks for the little jab for old times sake. I understand what you are doing, but Keno is rigt you are flirting around in dangerous territory with a post like that to me. Fortunately I am happy and home, as you guessed, so nothing will piss me off. I will throw in a hearty LOL, and say
