No way, mainly because of what you went on to state - Mick and Keef were there, but yes, the Glimmers were worried what would happen when BJ was to leave, since he was a popular back then as Mick and Keef took a second seat to them on fan support in the late '60s.
Now just to twist things around a bit, had the Glimmers not been as strong as they were, and say they could not keep the band going after BJ left, then the fault would have lied with Keith, since his actions in '67-'68 were the reason Brian broke down and left in the first place.

Right, most other bands didn't make it for the better after such an event - I can think of only 3 that really flourished - the Stones, Pink Floyd and AC/DC. On the flip side of the coin, the list is a long one, for sure.

No question, them two had what it took to get beyond all of that, it really had nothing to do with Taylor so much, they would have kept going strong anyway, even if somebody else had taken BJ's place - because of the Glimmers.
