It would be cool to see them record in Akron or Painesville, but there's just no way. It's not cosmopolitan enough. But if they went to see a few local rock bands, they might get the idea that you better bring it around here. Coffinberry or The New Lou Reeds or Hot Cha Cha or Jakeway rock with no abandon, in rooms that only hold 100 people. I think it would be good for them, but there's no way.

That new Keys album is a killer. My son and his girlfriend were lining up to get tickets for tonight's secret show at The Beachland Tavern, where I saw Ladyhawk blow the roof off the joint in a way too short set Friday night.

I love that The Black Keys are getting some recognition. They are a great, great band. They treat their fans like gold, and they never forget they came from this cruddy little part of the world. Their music really fits this area like a glove, too.
