RE: RE: Stones theory, a Lifestyle

Hmm, another word beside perfect to use...maybe..."as it should be"

The concept goes back to the Enlightenment when they believed that everything was perfect because it is the way God planned it. (Victorians, I believe)

There is no word in the Thesaurus I can find. I will change it to Every song is as it should be.

That does sound better. have to tel TM about this discovery thanks.

TM says I should use discrimination and I think your idea of relativity is close to that. In the Now there are no other songs, just the one I am listening to. If I am thinking of another song then I am not being fully attentive to the one I am listening to.

This is theory. It is a reminder for behavior but behavior is never consistent. I do not claim to be in the Now at all times or in a Stones state of consciousness at all times. Shoot, I went about 6 weeks without a Stones moment and could not be attentive to the music.

That leads me to two aspects I forgot to include because I was trying to keep it as short as possible.

We are the royalty of rock and roll and should conduct ourselves accordingly, with pride.

We derive power from the Stones but we should be strong and confident when attempting to tap into it. (this is my personal take on using the Stones to draw strength. Most are able to draw strength from the Stones when they are feeling down, I can't. That does not mean that I cannot listen to the Stones when I am sad, the Stones are excellent for feeling sadness completely, but I am not weak every time I am sad. Sadness is part of a whole identity therefore one can be strong and confident yet sad. I think the "darkness" of the Stones is a little dangerous when our psyche is weak. PIB is one thing when sad and strong and another when depressed and feeling weak.

The relative part... yes, I too love to compare and contrast so I will say that not every time I listen to the Stones I am fully attentive. however, listening to the Stones the way you suggest, and the way i listen to them a great deal of the time, fall under the repetition part. Using repetition I sometimes listen to the same song for hours or even the same album for weeks. I have to attend to thing while i am listening for hours so I may not even hear the music if i am writing or doing household chores or whatever but the music is still sinking into my unconscious. I agree, comparing and contrasting, especially versions of the same song is an excellent way to listen to the stones.

I am notoriously bad about comparing songs after a show. I will walk out and say ..."X was the best I have ever heard but Y was better in New Orleans in 81" something like that. But I am just showing off that I have heard the song so many times that I have the ability to compare. I am a Stones snob so sometimes my snobbery overcomes my theory. I am far from "perfect".

Thanks for the comments DA. Every note Brian played was perfect... ( this is where I add the LOL but I am serious)
