I like a lot of what you said and I always love reading your posts, but I'm definitely not the kind of person who is interested in deifying any band or artist, even if it's the Stones. Even if I spent days of repetition and concentration I don't think I could ever delude myself into thinking that "Back To Zero" is in any way a quality piece of music. It's a chore of a listen and there's nothing really artistically redeeming about it. I think forcing myself to like bad songs would mutate my taste in music. I like when my taste evolves, but I think forcing myself to enjoy something banal and annoying would stunt my growth.
To me, "Back To Zero" really only has value as an interesting little piece of history. It's proof that even the best band in the world can reach incredible lows. It shows that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are not gods or superheroes. They are fallible human beings and they try to make amazing music for other fallible human beings like us. I like it that way. I can relate to imperfection because I myself am pretty damn imperfect. I'm not saying that I like the fact that the Stones have recorded a few garbage songs, but those garbage songs are bound to come out now and then because the Stones are not perfect and they have their ups and downs.
