Hi 2000 Man,
Thanks for your note and comments. I appreciate what you say and where you're coming from. btw, my knickers weren't particularly twisted or bunched or whatever. ;-)
It just seemed that sometimes people attack and/or do a rugby style pile-on when they don't like someone or what they say. And I don't think that's cool. Maybe Lord of the Jimmy is an asshole or rudeass punk, or maybe there's something else going on we don't get. I find it a teeny bit puzzling that there's not a bit more of an exchange...but who knows what's going on? and after you've unselfconsciously and exuberantly declared your undying love for LIB having the first post chastise you for your expository style might stifle anyone's desire to chat for a bit.
I am not saying people have to tip-toe around. I don't think there is anything wrong with saying directly to someone---even with some heat if that's what you're feeling: dude stop posting reviews here--you know Keno asked us to post reviews on x page (or whatever); but hassling someone out the gate for writing a review without the proper variety of vocabulary terms or too many punctuation marks?
That's all's I was sayin. Well, actually, I was also saying it is not completely easy to navigate here as a new person. I'm not whining or saying I need remedial assistance. I can figure it out, am just fine---and non-knicker-knotted.
And maybe if you're on a lot of boards you immediately get the dynamics here. But if not, it can be fairly perplexing. Like whoever it was who posted last week and asked about "Ronnie." I didn't answer because when I was new I wondered too, and eventually grokked it by hanging around, and figured the poster would too.
Anyway, I will shut up now, so as not to flood the board with crap ;->
And as to Country Honk...I remember hearing it for the first time at 15 and being put off, thinking they were making fun of Honky Tonk Woman or something, but quickly grew to love it.
And I *know* this is an old story...but could someone please tell us again (whilst we gather close round the fire) about the fiddle player and how that all went down?
